December is the last month of the year. What do you imagine when you hear December? I imagine snow, so I will talk about snow. Winter in Japan is very cold, so some places have a lot of snow. For example, Hokkaido is located at the north end of Japan and very cold. Because of that, Hokkaido has snowy winters. Hokkaido is known for winter sports and Sapporo snow festival. There are a lot of phrases about snow in Japan. For instance, powder snow and eternal snow, large snowflakes and so on. Powder snow is very famous phrase in Japan. Eternal snow means snow which does not melt all year round. You can see it in some mountains. Large snowflakes means snow which is plump and become big snowflakes when they stick together.
